It’s not all that hard to imagine Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim as college kids, but in this clip from mtvU‘s “When I Was In College,” they describe their experience in only a way that Tim & Eric can. The team actually met while they were undergrads at Philadelphia’s Temple University. Their educational background in media production is no doubt what gives their shows the aesthetic brand they’ve become well known for.
The poor young man in the interview is doing his best not to get railroaded by the comfortably absurd and oddly well-dressed duo. As with most Tim and Eric interviews, any real in-depth answers are pretty much avoided. There’s a lot of talk of a crazy jazz bar on the Temple campus where the school jazz band played for an entire half-hour once. It’s standard Tim and Eric talk, but if you look hard enough, you can get a few nuggets of useful info, and it’s always clear to see that their chemistry goes back a long way.
